Hospice House Solarium and Reflection Garden
VitalCare’s beloved Hospice House has been transformed by the addition of a bright Solarium to the east side of the building. It features 1,000 square feet of beautiful indoor retreat and gathering space for patients and their families.

The Reflection Garden will encompass nearly one full acre of Northern Michigan plants, culture and history. Boulders and evergreens will frame a dramatic waterfall that will tumble to a stream and flow to a reflection pond. A Native American Circle of Life Healing |
Garden will reflect on the Four Directions and the seasons of life, all in a park-like setting.
The project has altered the entrance to the Hospice House campus, and will eventually provide additional parking space.
A groundbreaking ceremony and Native American blessing and purification of the site were held in August of 2006. Project construction began in August of 2008 and should be in finishing stages by Fall of 2009.
The Garden will be dedicated to Hospice House patients and to those who have supported Hospice House and played a significant role in its development, operation and expansion. It will be open to the community.
Giving opportunities are available for private donors and those who wish to memorialize a loved one. (See the link to the "Garden Memorial Brick Page" below.) VitalCare is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) healthcare organization, and donations to the Capital Campaign are tax-deductible.
