Dr. Skinner is continuing his walk across the U.S. to raise awareness of Hospice. A molecular biologist who has been involved in research on genetic disease and gene sequencing, Dr. Skinner has walked more than 10,000 miles across Britain, Iceland, America and New Zealand. He walks in memory of his mother, Monica Pickford, who died of pancreatic cancer at age 59. Dr. Skinner began this year’s walk in August in New York City and expects to complete his walk in Minot, North Dakota, at the end of November.
